In the FIR registered by the Ernakulam Town North police station, the incident allegedly occurred around 5:22 p.m. on Monday (June 20) near a vegetable shop near Pachalam K.S. Udayan Road.

It is alleged that the man was negligently driving his scooter in a manner endangering lives and that he shouted abusive words against the judge and his Personal Security Officer (PSO), while the latter were travelling to the judge's residence in the official car.

It is further alleged that he asked that the official car be moved and shouted out abuses, which were heard by the people near the shop, and thereby defamed the judge and his PSO, who was doing his official duty.

The FIR was registered on the basis of an online complainant made by the judge's PSO. Though the man has not been named in the crime, the registration number of his scooter has been mentioned.

The offences alleged include those punishable under Sections 281 [Rash driving or riding on a public way] and 296(b) [Obscene acts and songs] of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita
