Live Law is hiring for the following positions:

• Associate Editor (1) [Salary Upto 75K/Month Based On Merit And Experience]

• Desk Editor (1) Salary Upto 60 K/Month Based On Merit And Experience

• Reporters, Supreme Court (2) (Salary Upto 65 K/Month Based On Merit And Experience)

• Reporter, Gujarat High Court (1) (Salary Upto 60 K/Month Based On Merit And Experience)

• Reporter, Calcutta High Court (1) (Salary Upto 60 K/Month Based On Merit And. Experience)

Eligibility:

Candidates applying for Associate Editor and Desk Editor role must have a degree in Law. They should have at least TWO years and ONE year experience in legal journalism, respectively. Excellent writing skills, sharp legal acumen, good news sense, ability to manage CMS & SEO are necessary.

Candidates applying for Reporter role must have a degree in Law. Freshers can also apply. A person with prior writing experience and/or ability to live-tweet hearings will be preferred.

Job profile (Associate/ Desk Editor):

1. Editing reports about judgments and court hearings. The editing process involves fact-checking, proof-reading, improving readability, choosing the apt heading, highlighting important and news-worthy angles.

2. Coordinating with the reporting team to follow important legal developments. Identify reportable case hearings and judgments.

3. Tracking breaking legal news.

4. Researching about significant legal topics of news value and preparing simple explainers about them.

5. Working on analytical and opinion pieces about major court developments.

Job profile (Reporter):

1. Keep track of all the developments from the courts and submit timely news reports after attending the hearings. Keep track of orders/judgments uploaded by Courts and make factual and concise reports as quickly as possible.

2. Duty includes writing breaking stories as well as in-depth stories explaining the intricacies of the legal questions and other matters pending before the court.
3. Live-tweet important matters of public interest.

4. It is a full-time job where you will be expected to remain abreast of all the latest happenings, both inside and outside courts. Since we are a digital medium, both speed and accuracy is a must.

Location: Nature of work is online. Remote working is possible.
