Three Judicial Officers Sworn-In As Additional Judges Of Karnataka High Court
Three judicial officers were sworn-in as Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court on Monday (June 1).
Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru administered the oath of office to the newly appointed judges. The Central Government on Friday (May 29) had notified the appointments.
The following judicial officers have been appointed as Additional Judges:
- Smt. Kedambadi Ganesh Shanthi
- Shri Brungesh Mahadevappa
- Smt. Rajeshwari Narayana Hegde
After the swearing in ceremony, the Chairman of the Karnataka State Bar Council, Adv. Venkaraddi Devaraddi Kamaraddi, delivered a welcome address, after which all three judges gave their reply.
The ceremony was attended by the judges of three High Court benches, Additional Solicitor General Arvind Kamath, Advocate General Sasikiran S. Shetty, Senior advocate Shanthi Bhushan, and the Law Secretary, among others.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their appointments on April 14. With these appointments, the working strength of the Karnataka High Court rises to 44 against a sanctioned strength of 47.
