The Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked a woman, appearing in person before it and seeking registration of corruption FIR against a Session Judge, to file a complaint with the HC Registry.

A division bench of Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Sumeet Goel observed that the matter cannot be entertained on the judicial side.

"The petitioner who appears in person contends that she is aggrieved by the alleged act of illegality committed by the said judicial officer in a pending litigation before the said officer," the Court noted at the outset.

It then observed that, "certain act of corruption and illegality cannot be taken at judicial side" and directed the Complainant "to file the complaint in the registry which if filed within 30 days shall be considered by the administrative side…"

During the hearing, the Petitioner claimed that the concerned Sessions Judge of Punjab had passed a "fake order" in her case without assigning any case number and alleged that the officer is taking bribe from lawyers to pass favourable orders.

However, the Court asked her to approach the Registry with all her grievances along with an affidavit within 30 days.

The bench also orally assured that the allegations would be considered and an appropriate order would be passed if any substance is found in the complaint.

In light of the above, the plea was disposed of.
