MNLU Mumbai To Organise National Corporate Due Diligence Competition 2025

The Centre for Training and Research in Commercial Regulations (CTRCR), Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, announces the MNLU-M National Corporate Due Diligence Competition 2025.

The Centre for Training and Research in Commercial Regulations (CTRCR) was established at MNLU Mumbai with the vision to encourage and promote discussion, training, and research in the fields of commercial and economic law. The Centre brings together academicians, professionals, industry experts, regulators, judges, and students to deliberate on contemporary challenges and changes in the business environment – both domestic and global. Through scholarly engagement and collaborative learning, CTRCR aims to contribute to commercial law and regulatory policy discourse.

The National Corporate Due Diligence Competition is a event that places participants in the role of corporate transactional lawyers. Designed to simulate the world of corporate advisory practice, the competition challenges students to:

• Identify red flags in corporate transactions
• Uncover compliance gaps
• Draft detailed risk reports
• Negotiate contractual clauses

This format enables law students to develop practical skills in corporate advisory work, bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Eligibility

Open to all undergraduate law students enrolled in 3-year (2^nd year and onwards) or 5-year LL.B. (3^rd year and onwards) programmes from recognized institutions in India.

Event Structure

The competition will be held in 2 rounds simulating different stages of a due diligence exercise, including:

2. Negotiation Round

Important Dates

• Registrations close: 20th October 2025
• Announcement of selected teams: 22nd October 2025
• Proposition release: 27th October 2025
• Submission of documents: 4th November 2025
• Competition Date: 8th November 2025

Registration Details

• Participants may register via the form which is available here.
• Initial Registration Fee: Rs. 500/-
• Competition Registration Fee: Rs. 8000/- (Exclusive of accommodation)

Collaborators for the Event:

The collaborators will be extending internship opportunities to meritorious students, providing them with first-hand exposure to corporate legal practice. The collaborators for this event are Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys, Ashlar Law, and Hammurabi & Solomon Partners.

Accommodation for Participants

In response to multiple requests and to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience, accommodation facilities will be provided to all shortlisted teams during the competition. The accommodation will be offered at no additional cost and is included in the final registration fee of ₹8,000.

Prize Money

In addition to the internship opportunities for meritorious students, the winners and runners-up will receive prize money of ₹20,000 and ₹10,000 respectively.
