ABOUT PRO BONO CLUB, MNLU MUMBAI

The Pro Bono Club established by Department of Justice, Government of India at MNLU Mumbai is committed to promoting legal awareness, social justice, and community engagement. The main objectives of the club are:

  1. Enrol the students of the University in the Nyaya Bandhu (Pro-Bono Legal Services Club) Programme to assist private and public bodies and persons like Government Departments and lawyers to carry out pro-bono work.
  2. To facilitate undertakings and projects to give the students an opportunity to volunteer and work in favour of underprivileged communities. This is done with the aim of actually helping those in need and also allowing the students to explore the intricacies of social work and establish themselves as contributing professionals of society.
  3. The Pro-Bono Club will be working on the ‘Assisted Model’ where it will be collaborating with governmental and private organizations; which in turn would improve the efficiency and efficacy of the Club in all its undertakings.

ABOUT INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The Pro Bono Club is looking to engage full-time interns on a rolling basis to assist with its activities at Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai.

The applicants are required to mention the duration of their availability at the time of applying. The minimum duration is four weeks. Preference shall be given to applicants who are available for longer durations.

The Internship Opportunity is in Hybrid mode.

HOW TO APPLY?

The applicants are required to submit their CVs and a Statement of Purpose (maximum 400 words) to The Pro Bono Club mentioning the period of internship for which they are available.

OTHER DETAILS

  • The mode of Internship shall be online/offline.
  • The Pro Bono Club reserves the right to conduct interviews.
  • No TA/stipend shall be paid for the internship.
  • The Pro Bono Club reserves the right to not fill the notified positions.
  • Students who are pursuing/completed three years of (5 Years Degree) or Two Years of (3 Years Degree) or have completed an LLB Degree or pursuing an LLM are eligible for applying.
  • Interns possessing exceptional research skills may be given an opportunity to be a part of research projects, publications in reputed journals/books, drafting policy, etc. taken up under the Pro Bono Club ’s initiative.
  • Interns must specify the month/duration of the internship in their application while applying.
