In view of the "rapid increase" in the number of Covid cases in the city of Prayagraj, the Allahabad High Court will remain closed on July 14 and July 15, 2020, for sanitization purposes.

It is intimated that judicial as well as administrative sections of the High Court will remain closed and no fresh filings, either physically or through e-filing will take place on the abovementioned dates.

Further, cases that are listed for hearing on these dates will be taken up on July 17 and July 20, respectively.

In related news, functioning of the Calcutta High Court has been suspended till July 19, 2020, as considerable parts of the city have been declared as containment zones.

Functioning of both the benches of the Rajasthan High Court has also been suspended till July 15, 2020, as a court staff was found Covid-19 positive.

The Gujarat High Court has decided to take up only urgent matters from July 15 till July 17, 2020, In view of rising number of Covid cases within its Registry.
