The Central Government has notified the appointment of one Additional Judge each from the High Courts of Calcutta and Himachal Pradesh, as permanent Judges of those High Courts.

The Government has approved the proposal to appoint Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay, Additional Judge of the Calcutta High Court, as a permanent Judge. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court on May 2, 2018.

The Government has also approved the proposal to appoint Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua, Additional Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, as a permanent Judge. She was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court on May 30, 2019.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their appointment as permanent Judges, earlier this month.
