The Centre has notified the appointments of four new judges to the Andhra Pradesh High Court. They are:

  1. R Raghunandan Rao
  2. Battu Devanand
  3. D Ramesh
  4. N Jayasurya

All four of them are practicing Advocates in the high court and they will hold offices in the above order of seniority. Last year, the Supreme Court had recommended elevating them in its meeting held on July 25.

With their appointments, the strength of the Andhra Pradesh High Court will become 18, as opposed to the sanctioned strength of 37 judges.
