On consideration of all the relevant facts pertaining to rapid surge in the number of active Corona Virus cases at Prayagraj, the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court has decided the Court shall not sit on July 20 and July 21.

"There shall be no sitting of Courts on 20th & 21st of July 2020, in the High Court at Allahabad, only.

There shall be no physical/e-filing on 20th & 21st of July 2020," an administrative order issued by the CJ states.

Earlier, the High Court was declared closed on July 14 and July 15, 2020 in view of the "rapid increase" in the number of Covid cases in the city of Prayagraj. Later, the period of suspension was extended till July 17 (Friday).

The High Court has now intimated that cases listed for hearing on July 16 & 17 shall be taken up on July 22 & 23, respectively.

Matters fixed for July 15, 20 and 21 will be taken up on July 27, 28 and 29, respectively.

Further, the matters fixed for July 22, 23 and 24 shall be taken up on July 30 & 31 August 4, respectively.
