High Court Advocates' Association Seek Elevation Of Telangana Origin Advocates As Judges

The Telangana High Court Advocates' Association organized a protest on Wednesday (June 17) seeking consideration of names of State origin advocates for elevation as judges. 

President of the Association S Surender Reddy, Vice President DL Pandu, Secretary P Shravan Kumar Goud, Joint Secretary P Krishna Keertana, as well as senior members of the bar participated in the protest.  

The protest was organized pursuant to resolution passed by the extraordinary general body which had resolved to address a letter to Chief Justice of Telangana High Court and the Collegium members requesting them to consider names of practicing advocates of high court belonging to Telangana for elevation to the bench.

The general body has resolved to submit a representation to Chief Justice of India, Members of Supreme Court Collegium, Union Minister of Law, Governor of Telangana, Chief Minister of the State and Presidents of all political parties. 

The general body further resolved to organize a demonstration as a mark of protest on June 17 at 1:45 pm at the high court.
