NLS INMC to take place from 14th-17th April, 2016

About the competition

The NLS International Negotiation, Mediation and Client Counselling Competition (INMC) is a unique initiative aimed at providing a platform to students from across the globe to learn and hone their alternative dispute resolution skills in cross-cultural settings. It is the only avenue worldwide where students can experience a medley of dispute resolution activities simultaneously. The previous edition of the tournament was extremely well received and witnessed participation of over 150 students. For this edition, INMC plans to host 32 teams from across the world for each event in the competition.

Negotiation

Each team shall consist of two members. All teams enrolled in a full-time law course or a business management/ public policy course as on 1st April, 2016 are eligible to apply.

Mediation

Each team shall comprise three students (one client-advocate pair and one mediator). In each round, two client-advocate teams shall represent the parties in the dispute at hand. Two mediators, not from the same institute, shall assist such teams in resolving the dispute.

Client Counselling

It would involve a simulation of a consultation session at a law office. Each team shall consist of two members. All students enrolled in a full-time law course (under-graduate or post-graduate) as on 1 April 2016 are eligible to participate.

Date & Venue

The competition will be held from 14th to 17th April, 2016 at National Law School of India University, Bangalore, India.

Registration

Please register by sending a scanned copy of this registration form to adrboard@nls.ac.in by the 30th of March, 2016. In case of any changes in the team composition, the same should be officially conveyed to the Organizers at the time of the formal registration.

Registration Fees: Rs. 2500 per person, which is inclusive of food and accommodation. In case participants do not wish to avail the accommodation facilities, Rs. 1500 shall be the registration fees.  This payment should be made by NEFT or Demand Draft.

A scanned copy of the Demand Draft or  NEFT Receipt should be emailed along with the scanned copy of this registration form no later than 30th March, 2016. NEFT and Bank details are given below
