SG: I’ve a suggestion, meteorological scientists were also called in the meeting, they said wind flow will be there after 21 Nov. Now steps are taken. Various measures have been taken. Would you consider waiting till 21st before passing any extreme measure.
CJI: There has to be some responsibility. Not everything can be done through a judicial order. What's the point of burning firecrackers last week?
Counsel for intervenors: Measures need to be taken for aged vehicles. Fire crackers need to be stopped.
Singh: Your Lordships are in Lutyens delhi, it may be slightly better but other places it’s very bad.
Singh: Problem is a serious problem & Delhi has to look for a solution or we’ll have to close down everything! Instead of Summer vacation, we’ll have winter vacations in November.
Singh: We’re not farmer bashing, they’ve a small interval before starting of next crop , how many removal machines have been implemented in that interval? They should be asked to tell that.
Singh adds: Pollution control measures of vehicular emission, or thermal plants or construction work, etc have TO BE followed.
Singh: Either Delhi Government’s suggestion may be taken( PUSA decomposer). Or next is stubble machines. But those actions have to be taken NOW. Not next year. Inspite of steroids etc I’m unable to breathe properly.
Singh: we all may have heard wrongly or was reported wrongly that stubble burning was 10% of pollution, but its not less. Its atleast 35-40%. Something needs to be done.
