The Supreme Court Collegium has resolved to recommend the transfer of Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan, who is currently the Chief Justice of Telengana High Court, to Calcutta HC as its CJ.

The transfer is consequent  upon retirement of Justice D.K. Gupta, Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court on 31st December, 2018.

The collegium of five judges- CJI Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Sikri, Bobde, Ramana and Arun Mishra met on January 10.

On January 1, Justice Radhakrishnan had taken charge as the CJ of the newly formed Telengana High Court.

Before that, he was the CJ of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the states of Telengana and AP from July 2018.

The separate High Court for Telangana came into existence following the division of the High Court at Hyderabad to constitute a separate HC for AP at Amaravati from January 1

High Court of Kerala is his parent high court, where he was appointed as judge on 14 October, 2004.

He was appointed as CJ of Chattisgarh HC on March 18, 2017
