The Central Government on Thursday notified the appointment of Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava as the Acting Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.

The said appointment of the Justice Shrivastava came after the elevation of the Chief Justice Augustine George Masih as a Judge of the Supreme Court.

“In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint, Shri Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava, Judge of the Rajasthan High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from the date Shri Justice Augustine George Masih relinquishes the charge as Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court consequent upon his appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India,” the notification read.

Justice Shrivastava did his graduation (B.Sc.) from CMD College, Bilaspur and LL.B. with gold medal from K R Law College, Bilaspur. He enrolled with the Bar Council of M.P., Jabalpur, on October 5, 1987 and practiced at District Court, Raigarh, High Court of Madhya Pradesh and High Court of Chhattisgarh.

Justice Shrivastava was designated as Senior Advocate on January 31, 2005 and elevated as Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court on December 10, 2009. He was transferred to Rajasthan High Court and took oath on October 18, 2021.
