In a move aimed at enhancing accessibility and simplifying legal proceedings, the Jharkhand High Court has unveiled two innovative 'e-seva kendra-cum-help desks' within its premises. The inauguration ceremony was held on Monday and was graced by Chief Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra, alongside the presence of all sitting judges of the high court.

These newly established help desks are strategically situated at the entrances of the advocates Block I and II buildings within the High Court premises. Staffed by dedicated high court personnel, the desks have been specifically designed to offer comprehensive assistance to litigants and visitors.

Each desk is equipped with two computers complete with printers and internet connectivity. This technological setup has been put in place to aid litigants and visitors in navigating the intricacies of e-filing and to address their queries efficiently. Notably, the help desks are primed to provide crucial information regarding case statuses, upcoming hearing dates, and other pertinent details for both litigants and legal practitioners.

Furthermore, these desks will accept online applications for certified copies of judgements and orders issued by the high court, streamlining the process for interested parties. The innovative e-seva kendra-cum-help desks also promise to alleviate the burden associated with traffic challans, ensuring a smoother resolution process.

An additional feature of the desks is their role in generating 'e-Mulakat' appointments. This functionality enables visitors to conveniently submit applications to meet their incarcerated relatives. By providing advanced notice of meeting times, the desks are expected to reduce pressure on jail authorities and create a more peaceful experience for visitors during these interactions.

The convenience of the e-seva kendra extends to legal practitioners as well. Lawyers will be able to access immediate updates regarding their cases, thus facilitating more informed representation for their clients.
