CJI: Definitely we'll examine & we'll have to protect constitutional rights. Mr Kamat, don't go into merits. Let us see appropriate time, we'll hear.

CJI: I don't want to express anything. Don't take it on larger level. We also know what's happening in the state & hearing & you also have to think over whether its proper to bring it to Delhi.

Kamat: This in effect is complete suspension.

Kamat: Want to mention SLP in the interim order passed by HC. HC says that none of the student should raise religious identity while going to school & colleges. It has far reaching consequences.

Another petition is filed y Dr J Halli Federation of Masajids Madaaris and Wakf Institutions assailing the Karnataka High Court's interim Order

Youth Congress president B V Srinivas and a journalism student have moved the Supreme Court seeking to recognize the right to Muslim girls and women to wear a hijab out of their own choice as a fundamental right.

The plea also prays that the States must ensure that no girls are prevented from education and are not threatened in the name of religion or are not differentiated and discriminated merely because of wearing a Hijab.

The petitioners have raised the following questions.

a. Whether the effect of an interim order passed by a constitutional court can be the suspension of fundamental rights of citizens, guaranteed under Article 15, 19, 21, 25 of the Constitution?

b. Whether when hijab is an essential and integral facet of the belief and faith of the Petitioners herein, the Hon'ble High Court may direct the Petitioners to give up their faith in order to attend an educational institution?
