The Delhi High Court today refused to extend the deadline granted to Bollywood actor Rajpal Naurang Yadav to surrender before the concerned Jail Superintendent in relation to his conviction in cheque dishonour cases.

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma rejected Yadav's application for extension of time to surrender, stating that the actor must surrender today by 4 PM.

“I rejected these submissions on that day itself and granted you two more days to surrender. I don't think there is any ground. You were to surrender on a particular day but you were granted two days because you said you were in Bombay. Today you have to surrender at 4 PM,” the judge said.

This was after Yadav's counsel sought one more weeks' time to ensure that the payment of Rs. 50 lakh is done.

On February 02, the Court had asked Yadav to surrender by today after coming down heavily on him for repeatedly breaching undertakings given to the Court regarding payment of settlement amounts in cheque dishonour cases.

Justice Sharma had observed that the conduct of the actor “deserves to be deprecated”, noting that despite several opportunities and considerable leniency shown by the Court, Yadav failed to honour the payment commitments made to the complainant company, M/s Murli Projects Pvt. Ltd.
