    Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad (hereinafter "SLS-H") is a premier law school and a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune.     Alternative Dispute Resolution Society (hereinafter "ADRS") is a specialized society essentially working towards the inculcation of practical and research skills primarily in the field of ADR within the student community. Bearing in mind the complexities involved in the commercial disputes and family matters along with the evolution of this field and industry requisites, ADRS focuses on sensitizing and creating awareness of the alternative method of settlement.

    About the competition

    ADRS at SLS-H is organizing the 1st National Mediation Competition from 27th to 29th March, 2020. This competition aims to serve as a prestigious platform for participants from various law schools to portray, practice and hone their mediation and negotiation skills and shall also include an exhaustive training session before the commencement of the competition. The competition would also act as a catalyst to facilitate the communication between students and eminent lawyers, judges and other professionals and industry leaders worldwide. The competition is institutionally supported by the esteemed Nani Palkhivala Arbitration Centre (NPAC), Bar Association of India, Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF), Hyderabad Arbitration Centre [HAC], Kovise Foundation Conflict Resolution International (KFCRI) and Foundation for Comprehensive Dispute Resolution (FCDR). Furthermore, the competition is also supported by SCC Online and Eastern Book Company (EBC) as our Knowledge and Research Partners, Lawctopus and Live Law as our Media Partners respectively.

    Eligibility

    The Competition is open for all bona-fide students pursuing the five-year or three-year LL.B. programme from a University or Institute in India, recognized by the Bar Council of India, are eligible to apply.

    Team Structure

    Each team shall consist of three members – Mediator, Client, and Counsel, the role of each team member to be decided unanimously by the team before registration. The Client and Counsel shall be collectively referred to as 'Mediating Pair'.

    Venue – Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad

    Dates – 27th – 29th March 2020

    Fee Details

    The registration fees per participant shall be INR 3,500 per participant, amounting to a total of INR 10,500 per team (inclusive of GST @18%), and the same shall be inclusive of an exhaustive training session exclusively for the participants, kits, merchandise, food, accommodation (From 26th March, 12:00 pm to 29th March, 8:00 pm only) and conveyance of the team (inclusive of to & fro transfers from Hyderabad Airport/Railway Station), along with the Wi-Fi and library facilities.

    Registration Procedure

    The Competition has a cap of 20 teams and the registration of teams shall be purely on first come first serve basis. However, only one team shall be allowed per college. The registration process shall be completed in a two-fold manner as mentioned hereinafter:

    1. Provisional Registration via Google Form

    Interested teams/Team In-Charge(s) shall be required to fill a Google form to provisionally register the team. The first round of Provisional Registration shall commence on 15thJanuary, 2020 and end on 27th January, 2020. The link for the provisional registration is available on our website extension. The interested team/Team-in-Charge(s) shall receive a confirmation via e-mail, along with the Registration Form and the necessary bank details.

    The second round of provisional registration shall commence on 4th February, 2020 and end on 15th February, 2020. However, the second round of registration is subject to availability of seats in the competition.

    2. Submission of Registration and Payment form.

    Upon receiving the confirmation of the Provisional Registration of the team, the teams/Team-In-Charge(s) shall be required to fill the Registration and Payment Form sent via the e-mail. Further, the registration fees of INR 10,500 per team (inclusive of GST @18%), shall be paid by way of an online transfer on or before 12:00 pm 3rd February, 2020. In order to confirm the participation of a team, the participants shall mandatorily e-mail a soft-copy of the duly filled Registration and Payment Form, wherein the details of the participants shall be mandatorily filled up in Annexure A and the details of the payment shall be duly mentioned in Annexure B of the aforesaid form.

    Further, the teams shall be required to mandatorily attach the receipt of the payment to the e-mail along with the Registration and Payment Form, which is to be sent on or before 3rd February, 2020 12:00pm.

    Note: Kindly note that any default in terms of the aforementioned registration procedure shall be treated as an incomplete registration and the team will not be registered for the competition. Further, no withdrawals after making the payment of registration fee shall be accepted. In case of withdrawal after payment, the registration fee will not be refunded.
