About the competition

The NLS International Negotiation, Mediation and Client Counselling Competition (INMC) is a unique initiative aimed at providing a platform to students from across the globe to learn and hone their alternative dispute resolution skills in cross-cultural settings. It is the only avenue worldwide where students can experience a medley of dispute resolution activities simultaneously. The previous edition of the tournament was extremely well received and witnessed participation of over 150 students. For this edition, INMC plans to host 32 teams from across the world for each event in the competition.

Each team shall consist of two members. All teams enrolled in a full-time law course or a business management/ public policy course as on 1st April, 2016 are eligible to apply.

Each team shall comprise three students (one client-advocate pair and one mediator). In each round, two client-advocate teams shall represent the parties in the dispute at hand. Two mediators, not from the same institute, shall assist such teams in resolving the dispute.

Client Counselling

It would involve a simulation of a consultation session at a law office. Each team shall consist of two members. All students enrolled in a full-time law course (under-graduate or post-graduate) as on 1 April 2016 are eligible to participate.

Date & Venue

The competition will be held from 14th to 17th April, 2016 at National Law School of India University, Bangalore, India.
