  • Advanced Training Programme On ‘Integrated Jurisprudence Of Environment Law: CBD & Trips- Conflict Or Co-Existence’

    The Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) will hold a 15-hour advanced training programme on ‘Integrated Jurisprudence of Environment Law: CBD & TRIPs- Conflict or Co-existence’ from Oct 8 to 11.

    The programme would explore solutions to environmental protection like conservation of biodiversity, developments in science and technology, the patent regime, among others.

    Its aims are to provide a brief overview of the basic concepts of environment protection, biodiversity and intellectual property, especially patents and related aspects; to learn the provisions and practical application of benefit sharing and the debate of commons on one hand and the individual property rights on the other; to debate the principles evolved in the international community dealing with all aspects of protection and preservation of environment; to explore principles for the people who are involved in the protection and preservation of nature, and to analyse basic concepts of intellectual property and essentials of patenting.

    Eligibility: Advocates, academics, legal practitioners, students, NGOs, activists, science and technology professionals or professionals in any related field are eligible to register for this course.

    The programme will be a mix of lectures, discussions and screening of documentaries. Applicants have to fill in and submit registration forms to achandra@gnlu.ac.in latest by Oct 6 (Friday).

    Registration Fees: The fees for professionals and others is Rs 750, while for GNLU students, it is Rs 500. The fees will include registration, tuition, course material and examination, and shall be paid at the registration desk.
