  • Bar Exam: BCI Declares 470 “Pass” Candidates of Fourth AIBE as “Fail”

The Bar Council of India notified yesterday that some candidates who appeared for the fourth All India Bar Examination (AIBE) and were earlier declared as “Pass” were originally “Fail”.

    The notification reads as follows:

“Due to technical reasons we found discrepancies in the result of many candidates. We looked into this issue and rectified the error. After rectification we found some of the candidates who were previously declared as “Pass” were originally “Fail”. We verified it by manual checking of the answer sheets of such candidates. The list of such candidates is available here. Kindly visit the link and if you find your name in this list kindly apply for next AIBE. In case of any query kindly feel free to contact us. Any inconvenience caused is regretted.”

The Bar Council of India has recently postponed the fifth AIBE from 14th July, 2013 to 25th August, 2013 due to “lot of requests from Candidates and various State Bar Councils”.

It is pertinent to note that the AIBE has been controversial from the inception and not a single Bar Exam has been conducted on promised dates.

The list of failed candidates can be accessed here.
