Journalist Abhishek Upadhyay moves #SupremeCourt stating that the UP Police has issued a notice to social media platform X (Twitter) seeking details of his personal handle dating back to July 1.

He seeks stay of the UP Police notice, contending that it is an attempt to seek personal information from the time he reported on the Ayodhya Ram temple donation theft.

He says though the FIR is for an alleged road rage incident of August 18, police seeking data from June 1.

Counsel mentions the application for urgent listing.

Counsel : my lords was please to protect. IO has sought all digital details since 1 June 2026 up till date, though road rage incident was of 18.08.2026. That is the week when I collected data to expose Ram Mandir theft. If that is disclosed, entire source would be at mercy of state
