Call for Papers: NLIU Bhopal announces its first Biodiversity Seminar, BioSanctum 2016

About the Seminar

The Madhya Pradesh State Biodiversity Board in collaboration with the Cell for Awareness and Research in Environmental Law Studies, National Law Institute University, Bhopal, is proud to conduct their first Biodiversity Seminar, BioSanctum 2016, inviting innovative legal perspectives on the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 & ABS Regulations, 2014.

Topics for Paper and Poster Presentation

We encourage scholars, professionals and students of both LL.B (3 yr/5 yr) and LL.M courses to present a unique perspective and legal interpretation with respect to the following themes under the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 and Biological Diversity Rules, 2004.

1. Definitions of ‘Biological diversity’, ‘Biological resources’, ‘Commercial utilization’ and ‘Value-added products’ as under Sections 2(b), (c), (f) and (p)
2. Prior intimation to the State Biodiversity Board (Section 7) and the functions and powers of the Board (Section 23 and 24)
3. Sections 2, 3, 4 of the Guidelines on Access to Biological Resources and Associated Knowledge and Benefits Sharing Regulations, 2014.

Note- All submissions (abstracts/articles) are to be made in Microsoft Word Document Format electronically to [email protected]. Further, a nominal fee of Rs 250 accepted as registration fee.
