In April 2022, the Supreme Court delivered 88 Reportable Judgements. This month brought various concurring decisions rendered by Judges on different issues, for instance, on the issue of availability of the benefit of reservation after re-organization of States, Justice Uday Umesh Lalit authored the majority view (for himself and for Justice Pamidighantam Sri Narasimha), whereas Justice S.Ravindra Bhat authored a separate concurring judgment. On the issue of the entitlement of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers to gratuity, Justice Abhay S. Oka authored the judgment, with Justice Ajay Rastogi penning his views in a separate concurring opinion. Similarly, on the issue of tax exemption in respect of works contracts granted in the process of revival of an industry under the Sick Industrial Companies Act, 1985, Justice Hrishikesh Roy authored the main judgment, and Justice K.M. Joseph authored a concurring view. Further, Justice Bela M. Trivedi authored a judgment commuting death penalty awarded to a convict, to life imprisonment for a period of 20 years.

Overall in April 2022, the Supreme Court authored 106 Judgments, of which 88 were categorized as "Reportable". Further, over the course of the month, the Supreme Court passed total 9,180 orders, an average of 483 orders per working day.

Out of the 88 Reportable Judgments, the Appeals / Petitions were allowed in 56.8% cases (i.e. 50 appeals / petitions); 25% Appeals / Petitions were dismissed; 11.4% were partly allowed; and 6.8% were disposed of with directions.
