WinZO Faces Fresh Insolvency Plea From Arve Digital Over ₹1.59 Crore Debt

After Paytm, Arve Digital Media, a digital marketing company, has approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), New Delhi Bench, seeking insolvency proceedings against online gaming platform WinZO over Rs 1.59 crore in unpaid dues for services related to user acquisition, app installations, and digital growth campaigns. A bench comprising Judicial Member Justice Jyotsna Sharma and Technical Member Ravindra Chaturvedi could not hear the plea on Tuesday as the petitioner sought corrections in an affidavit. According to the plea, the default relates to two invoices raised between July and September 2025, out of a total debt of nearly Rs 2.87 crore owed by WinZO for services provided since September 2019. Over six years, Arve Digital Media raised 65 invoices, of which 61 were paid, while four remain unpaid. Arve Digital Media tracked app installations using third-party tools like Appsflyer and shared the data with WinZO, which reconciled it against internal CRM records before approving invoices. Daily CRM reports were also shared to ensure transparency. The operational creditor issued a demand notice to WinZO on September 17, 2025, to recover the outstanding dues. WinZO responded on September 30, 2025, raising allegations of fraud and inaccurate billing, which Arve Digital Media described as a “moonshine dispute” intended to evade payment of reconciled and validated invoices. The plea states that before the demand notice, WinZO had admitted the dues and requested a waiver citing the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which banned real-money gaming applications. Arve Digital Media refused the waiver but offered a nominal Rs 2.5 lakh concession on future invoices, while repeatedly demanding payment of validated invoices for May and June 2025. This comes after Paytm filed a similar insolvency plea against WinZO, claiming non-payment of around Rs 3.6 crore for advertising services. In Paytm's case, the NCLT issued notice to WinZO, granting two weeks to file a reply, with the matter listed for further hearing on December 15. While WinZO did not deny that the ads were published, it argued that some invoices were pending internal validation. Paytm countered that at least one invoice had already been validated and no complaints were raised at the time of publication.
