    The High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru, the Karnataka Judicial Academy, Bengaluru, and the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal, are jointly organizing the South Zone–I Regional Conference on “Advancing the Rule of Law Through Technology: Challenges & Opportunities” on 29th and 30th November 2025 at the Karnataka Judicial Academy, Bengaluru.

    This two-day regional conference aims to bring together Judges of High Courts and Judges of the District Judiciary from the five southern States—Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana—to deliberate on the role of technology in advancing the rule of law, along with the opportunities and challenges associated with it.

    The Conference will be inaugurated on Saturday, 29th November 2025 at 9:00 AM, by Sri Justice Alok Aradhe, Judge, Supreme Court of India, in the gracious presence of Sri Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka & Patron-in-Chief, Karnataka Judicial Academy; Sri Justice Aniruddha Bose, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India & Director, National Judicial Academy; Smt. Justice K.S. Mudagal, Judge, High Court of Karnataka & President, Karnataka Judicial Academy; the Governors of the Karnataka Judicial Academy, as well as Hon'ble Sitting and Former Judges of the High Court.

    Across five specialised sessions, the Conference will explore the following themes spread over two days. The sessions will be chaired and addressed by Sri Justice Aravind Kumar, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Sri Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka; Sri Justice M. Sundar, Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur; and Judges of the High Courts of Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Madras and Telangana.

    DAY – 1

    Session – I: Bridging the Digital Divide: Role of e-Services

    This session will examine how digital platforms and e-services can enhance accessibility and transparency in the justice system. It will also discuss the challenges posed by unequal digital access and strategies to ensure inclusivity for all stakeholders.

    Session – II: Electronic and Digital Media: Role of Courts

    This session will focus on impact of Media Reporting on the Administration of Justice. It will also highlight the need for balancing freedom of expression with the integrity of judicial processes.

    Session – III: Effective Use of Technology in Alternate Dispute Resolution

    This session will explore how technology-enabled ADR platforms can significantly reduce delays and promote faster resolution of disputes. It will also provide insights into innovative tools that enhance efficiency in mediation, arbitration and conciliation.

    DAY – 2

    Session – IV: Cybercrimes and Digital Forensics

    This session will provide an overview of emerging cyber threats and the legal framework required to address them. It will also highlight the importance of digital forensics in investigation and adjudication, emphasising accuracy, chain of custody and evidentiary value.

    Session – V: Future Technologies for Improving Quality of Adjudication

    This session will discuss the transformative potential of artificial intelligence, blockchain and predictive tools in judicial decision-making. It will also focus on how responsible adoption of such technologies can enhance accuracy, reduce pendency and strengthen public trust.
