Justice Surya Kant Launches Claimant-Friendly MACT Dashboard For MP Judiciary At NALSA Delhi

Justice Surya Kant, Executive Chairman of the National Legal Services Authority and Judge, Supreme Court of India launches “Dashboard for Claimant Reimbursement & Deposit System for Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT)” for Madhya Pradesh Judiciary at NALSA, New Delhi. In a push to make compensation for motor accident victims faster and more transparent, Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, NALSA, on 21st September 2025 launched the Dashboard for Claimant Reimbursement & Deposit System for Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) at the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi. The initiative has been developed by the High Court of Madhya Pradesh in compliance with the Supreme Court's order dated 22nd April 2025 in Suo Motu Writ Petition (Civil) No. 7 of 2024. The Supreme Court directed that the Central Project Coordinator of the e-Courts Project, or the Registrar (Computer/IT) of the High Courts, with the assistance of the respective State Governments, shall create a digital dashboard serving as a central repository where information relating to the amounts deposited in connection with compensation awarded under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the Employees' (Workmen's) Compensation Act, 1923 shall be uploaded regularly along with complete details. The event was marked by the esteemed presence of Justice J.K. Maheshwari, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Justice Alok Aradhe, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Chief Justice, High Court of Madhya Pradesh; Justice Atul Sreedharan, Administrative Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh and Executive Chairman, M.P. State Legal Services Authority; Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Anand Pathak, Judges, High Court of Madhya Pradesh. Adding further dignity to the occasion, Dharminder Singh, Registrar General, High Court of Madhya Pradesh; Bharat Parashar, Member Secretary NALSA along with officers of NALSA; Kuldeep Kushwah, Registrar (IT), High Court of Madhya Pradesh; and Arvind Shrivastava, Additional Secretary, MPSLSA, were also present. Speaking at the launch, Justice Surya Kant said, “This platform is a meaningful step toward making justice delivery faster, simpler, and more accessible to ordinary citizens. Families already dealing with the pain of an accident should not have to suffer delays or complicated procedures to receive what is rightfully theirs. The judiciary in Madhya Pradesh has shown remarkable commitment in implementing this system quickly and effectively. Their work sets an example for other states to follow.” The system enables: Online deposit of compensation by insurance companies or responsible parties.Direct transfer of funds into claimants' bank accounts without unnecessary intermediaries.Real-time tracking of deposits and case status through a user-friendly dashboard. The launch of this application marks a milestone in the ongoing e-Courts Project, reaffirming the judiciary's commitment to modernization, accessibility, and service to the citizens of India. The Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority will monitor MACT cases across the state to ensure compensation reaches claimants without delays. Officials said the platform would be particularly beneficial for rural and remote claimants who often face challenges in following up on cases or accessing funds. Legal experts noted that the initiative is aligned with the Digital India vision and represents a step toward efficiency, transparency, and trust in the judiciary, especially benefiting claimants from remote and rural areas who often face challenges in accessing courts and compensation processes.
