VIT Chennai And The Hindu To Host Second Edition Of “Justice Unplugged 2026”

VIT School of Law (VITSOL) in partnership with The Hindu, is organising the second addition of Justice Unplugged – Shaping the Future of Law at Delhi on February 28, 2025.
The event will be graced by Justice Ujjal Bhuyan as the Guest of Honour. Other attendees include Shreya Arora Mehta, District & Sessions Judge Delhi, Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Senior Advocate Shadan Farasat, Senior Advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan, Senior Advocate S Muralidhar, Senior Advocate Karuna Nundy, and Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal along with other dignitaries from the media.
The event will begin with a welcome address by Suresh Nambath, editor of The Hindu followed by a presiding address by G Viswanathan, founder and Chancellor of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). A special address would be made by Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi followed by the Guest of Honour Address by Abhishek Manu Singhvi.
The inaugural event will be followed by discussions on foundational elements of legal profession and the evolution of its practitioners. The first session would be on “Legal Education in India” where Vice President of VIT GV Selvam would be in conversation with LV Navaneeth, CEO of The Hindu group.
The second session would be on “Gen AI-Induced Technological Transformation: Professional Competence in Legal Practice” by Garima Singh, Judicial Law Clerk cum Research Associate to Justice Ujjal Bhuyan along with Neha Rathi, Advocate-on-Record, Jishnu JR, HOD of BBA LLb (Hons) VIT School of Law and Sandeep Phukan, Associate Editor at The Hindu.
The third session would be titled “Fundamental Rights in the Digital Age: The Constitution's Response to Emerging Trends” by Senior Advocate Shadan Farasat, Senior Advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan, MS Sharmila, HOD of Centre for Post Graduation Legal Studies (LLM Programme) at VIT School of Law along with Aaratrika Bhaumik, Senior Sub-Editor at The Hindu.
The fourth session would be on “The Art of Constitutional Thinking: How Great Lawyers Are Made” by Senior Advocate S Muralidhar and Krishnadas Rajagopal, Legal Correspondent at The Hindu.
This would be followed by the fifth session titled “Improving Legal Acccess: Making Justice Accessibel to All”, by Shreya Arora Mehta District and Additional Sessions Judge, Delhi, alomg with Sanchita Ain, Advocate-on-record, Senior Advocate Karuna Nundy, Tania Sebastian, HOD, BA LLb (Hons) at VIT School of Law, along with Kunal Shankar, Deputy Business Editor at The Hindu.
The last and final session for the event is on “Constitutional Morality and the Supreme Court of India: Has the Court moved from Constitutionalism to Pragmatism?” where Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal would be in conversation with N Ram, Director of The Hindu.
The event intends to serve as a student-first, knowledge-rich platform for aspiring lawyers and young practitioners, offering clarity on career trajectories, evolving professional demands, and the steadfast ethical pillars that underpin the rule of law.
