  • GNLU to organize Certificate Course on Police and their Powers to Investigate

    Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar is going to organize Certificate Course on Police and their Powers to Investigate from 14th -20th March, 2016.  The resource person will be Mr. Anant Deogaonkar, Assistant Professor of Criminal Law, GNLU, Gandhinagar. The last date of registration is 7th March, 2016.  The evaluation of the course will be in the form of an Objective Test.

    ABOUT THE COURSE

    The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973

    The Code provides a Chapter on, “Information to the Police and their Powers to Investigate”. This Course is designed to study Police as a functionary under the Code. The powers of the police on commission of a cognizable offence are very significant and are to be exercised with no intervention as such even by a Magistrate. Thus, the very purpose and object of such powers given to the police are to be exercised very effectively and timely by the police.

    The very intricacies of the powers along with their admissibility in evidence will be dealt in this course.



    • To acquaint the participants with the Police and their Powers to Investigate
    • To give practical aspect of the subject
    • To help students understand Police as a functionary under the Code.
    • To help students identify career prospects in joining judicial service and police service.


     STUDY MATERIAL: Articles, reports and case laws will be provided to every

     WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: participants in soft copy. Students pursuing full time undergraduate and post graduate programmes in law, Advocates, Legal Personnel, Counsels, Legal Advisors, Teachers, Police personnel

    INTAKE CAPACITY: 30 to 40 participants on a first come first serve basis

    NON-REFUNDABLE FEES:



    • GNLU Participants: Rs.2000/-
    • Others: Rs. 3000/- Note: The fees include registration fee, tuition fee and course kit. Additional charges are applicable for breakfast, lunch etc. and for accommodation at GNLU guest house.


    HOW TO APPLY:



    • Each applicant shall have to fill-in and submit Registration Form along with payment of requisite fees. The Registration form is available on the University website.
    • Payment can be made by Demand Draft issued in the name of “GUJARAT NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY” payable at AHMEDABAD. Mention your Name, E-mail Id and Contact number on the back side of the Demand Draft.
    • A Scanned copy of the Demand Draft along with the soft copy of the registration form is to be sent on the e-mail id to: danant@gmail.ac.in
    • The hard copy of the Registration form and Demand Draft must reach us on before 07th March, 2016
