    Gujarat National Law University is introduced its latest course "PG Diploma in Judicial Administration and Court Management" (PGDJACM)

    Public trust in the Court System is essential to the ability of our society to be governed by the rule of law. The public view of judicial excellence is a combination of fair outcomes as ‘Justice’ and a positive and respectful experience with the courts.

    Not only the public expects Courts to deal with the issues of justice within changing society but yet more, feels it to be entitled to a more efficient, responsive and effective court system, which is a also a potential measure of ‘Access to Justice’. The nature of work at courts have changed dramatically over the past years, from an uneven patchwork with pockets of personality-driven excellence to an increasingly unified structure where system-wide high standards of judicial and management excellence are expected.

    Realizing the new challenges facing Courts which demand evidence-based, data-driven and user-focused management practices and further to embrace change and reform, Gujarat National Law University, a premiere law university is offering a PG Diploma in Judicial Administration and Court Management. The aim is to eventually inspire confidence in public mind for Court Systems by creating the trained Human resources who are learnt to effectively and efficiently plan, develop and implement judicial administration and court management strategies and policies.

    The syllabus structure for court management, as specified in the notification, includes: “Justice Jurisprudence, Introduction to Justice Management, Judicial Process and Court Structure, Leadership and Justice Delivery System, Case Flow Management, Judicial Responsiveness Management, e-Court Management, Judicial Reforms”

    Intended audience and course pre-requisites:

    This course is intended for those working in the Courts or with Courts. This course can also serve as a primer for those individuals planning to work in/with Courts in the future. Graduate in any discipline from a university /institution recognized by the UGC or any other regulatory body with minimum 50% marks can apply for this course.

    Course Methodology:

    The course is conducted through a flexible pedagogy and contact classes are held at the GNLU campus. Experts, in their fields, drawn from all over the country along with the GNLU faculty shall be involved in teaching the Diploma Candidates.
