The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday constituted a three-member special investigation team (SIT) to look into the alleged leakage of the Haryana Judicial Service Examination.

The SIT comprises Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police (Crime and Investigation); Krishan Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Security & Operation); and Inspector Poonam.

The names were placed before a three-judge bench headed by Justice Rajesh Bindal by Tejinder Singh Luthra, Director General of Police, Chandigarh, and Randeep Rai, Public Prosecutor, Chandigarh.

On September 15, the high court had entrusted the probe into the case with the Chandigarh police since the examination was held there.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, filed an affidavit in the court stating therein that a complaint was received in his office on July 20 by Manoj, husband of Suman, one of the aspirants.

It was marked to Assistant Sub-Inspector Pardeep Rana on July 22, who concluded that the complaint was false.

He even prepared the report of the Station House Officer and got the same signed from him without his knowledge, the affidavit said.

An FIR stands registered in this regard at sector 5 police station in Panchkula.

The court had earlier ordered FIR in consonance with the finding of the Recruitment/ promotion/ Court Creation Committee which had recommended that, "an FIR be lodged against Ms. Sunita, Ms. Sushila and Dr. Balwinder Sharma, Registrar (Recruitment) to further probe the act of leakage of question paper of HCS (JB) Preliminary Examination 2017".
