The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of two Andhra Pradesh High Court judges, who are:

Justice C. Manavendranath Roy (Proposed to be transferred to the Gujarat High Court)

Justice Duppala Venkata Ramana (Proposed to be transferred to the Madhya Pradesh High Court).

The Collegium, consisting of Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice B R Gavai and Justice Surya Kant, recommended these names after consulting Judges of the Supreme Court who are conversant with the affairs of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Justices of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat HC and MP HC were also consulted while making these recommendations

Though Justice Roy requested the Collegium to reconsider his proposed transfer and in the alternative, requested that he be transferred to the Telangana High Court, Justice Ramana also sought reconsideration of his proposed transfer or to be transferred to the Karnataka High Court, however, finding no merits in their requests, the Collegium recommended their transfer to Gujarat and MP High Courts.

As per Collegium's statement, all the transfers have been recommended for "better administration of justice".
