    The Bombay High Court on Tuesday got 14 new judges.

    With these appointments, the strength of the HC has increased to 82 as against the sanctioned strength of 94.

    Acting Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar administered the oath of office to the following advocates, who are appointed as additional judges.

    Siddheshwar Thombre,

    Mehroz Pathan,

    Ranjitsinha Bhonsale,

    Nandesh Deshpande,

    Amit Jamsandekar,

    Ashish Chavan,

    Sandesh Patil

    Vaishali Patil-Jadhav

    Abasaheb Shinde,

    Shreeram Shirsat,

    Hiten Venegavkar,

    Farhan Dubash,

    Rajnish Vyas and

    Raj Wakode

    Among these advocates, Patil and Shirsat were the special public prosecutors for the Central Government and represented the prime agencies like CBI, NIA and ED while Venegavkar is the Chief Public Prosecutor of Maharashtra.

    Also, Deshpande was the Deputy Solicitor General of India (DSGI) representing the Central Government at the Nagpur bench.

    Advocate Dubash was holding the post of the secretary of the Bombay Bar Association until his elevation. And Wakode is the nephew of CJI Bhushan Gavai.
