Justice Ravindra Ghuge Appointed As Acting Chief Justice Of Bombay High Court

The Central Government on Monday (June 1) notified the appointment of Justice Ravindra Ghuge as the Acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
This comes after the HC's Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar was elevated to the Supreme Court.
"In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Ravindra V Ghuge, Judge of the High Court of Bombay, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of the High Court of Bombay, consequent upon appointment of Shri Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, Chief Justice of the High Court of Bombay as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India," the notification states.
Justice Ghuge is the senior-most puisne judge of he High Court since his appointment in June 2013 and is slated to retire in July 2028.
Born in 1966, Justice Ghuge did law in 1990 and joined the Bar in the same year and commenced his practiced in the Bombay High Court and also the Labour Courts and majorly appeared in labour or service matters.
Besides law practice, Justice Ghuge has also been a contributory professor in a few law colleges and continues to have a keen interest in playing cricket.
