The Delhi High Court on Friday directed an X user to delete or takedown a tweet posted by her against Senior Advocate and BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia over his appearance on a TV debate, which went viral on social media.
Justice Mini Pushkarna directed the user “Ranting Gola” to takedown the tweet forthwith, observing that prejudice shall be caused to Bhatia if the tweet is allowed to continue any further.
Bhatia has alleged that the user has uploaded the tweet on X, formerly Twitter on December 19 last year which is in wilful disobedience of an interim order passed in his defamation suit on September 25, 2025.
It is his case that the user, also a YouTuber, has been uploading video and content in defiance of the injunction order.
While directing removal of the tweet, the Court also directed Ranting Gola to remove the post from other social media platforms, including Instagram.
Senior Advocate Gaurav Bhatia appeared in person. The user was represented by Advocate Vrinda Grover.
The suit was filed last year against various individuals, including Ranting Gola and Congress leaders. The coordinate bench had directed take down of two allegedly defamatory social media posts (by Samajwadi Party Media Cell and Sandeep Singh), observing that attacking the dignity of a person using obscene and sexually suggestive language under the guise of free speech cannot be permissible under any circumstances.
