    Delhi High Court judges  Justice Jasmeet Singh and Justice Vikas Mahajan, on Monday sat till late in the evening to hear cases listed before them today, during the ongoing summer vacations.

    While Justice Singh held the court till 9:47 PM, Justice Mahajan held his court till 9:25 PM. While rising, Justice Mahajan agreed to hear tomorrow some of the urgent cases which could not be heard today.

    Both the judges heard a total of 20 cases together in the division bench. More than 40 cases were listed before them in the single benches.

    On Monday morning, both the judges had assembled together as a division bench first, after which Justice Singh and Justice Mahajan again assembled as single benches and heard the vacation matters listed before them.

    Justice Singh heard all 48 cases listed before him today in the single bench. However, Justice Mahajan could hear only about 35 cases singly and said that he will hear other important matters tomorrow. He had a total of 51 cases before him.

    During the summer break in 2021, Justice Jasmeet Singh held virtual court till 11:30 PM and 10:30 PM on different dates. Other judges who conducted hearings till late night the same year were Justice Navin Chawla, Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani and Justice (since retired) Asha Menon.

    Regular court hours on normal working days start at 10:30 AM and usually end around 5:00 PM. The Delhi High Court is on summer vacations from June 03 to June 30.

    Justice Chandra Dhari Singh, Justice Girish Kathpalia, Justice Jasmeet Singh, Justice Vikas Mahajan, Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju, Justice Amit Mahajan, Justice C. Hari Shankar and Justice Manoj Jain have been notified to hear urgent cases during the vacations.

    The notification issued by the Registrar General states that the judges will sit in court on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10.30 A.M. The sitting may continue for the next succeeding day if matters fixed for any day are not finished on that day, according to the notification.
