    A criminal writ petition has been filed before the Delhi High Court seeking investigation into alleged fraud, criminal breach of trust and financial irregularities in Army Group Insurance Fund— which administers and funds insurance schemes for the welfare of the force.

    The plea has been filed by a serving Lieutenant Colonel of the Indian Army Court seeking monitored CBI investigation into allegations of falsifying accounts, diverting welfare funds into opaque corporate and securities markets, etc.

    The matter was initially heard on September 16, when a single bench of Justice Neena Bansal Krishna sought CBI's stand.

    “On advance Notice, learned counsel for CBI has appeared seeks time to file a Reply. Let the Reply be filed within eight weeks with copy to the opposite Counsel,” the COurt had ordered while listing the matter for February 20, 2026.

    Subsequently, on November 14, an application was moved by the Petitioner for production of the Annual Confidential Report records and for directions to CBI for registration of FIR.

    While asking CBI to respond to the application as well, the Court posted the matter for date already fixed.
