    Justice Lalitha Kanneganti was on Friday sworn in as the Judge of Karnataka High Court, following her transfer from the Telangana. Chief Justice Prasanna B Varale administered the oath of office.

    The swearing in ceremony was followed by a welcome address by Vishalaraghu H L, Chairman of the Karnataka State Bar Council.

    In reply Justice Kanneganti said “State of Karnataka is a perfect blend of globalisation with the existing traditional virtues. It is a land of sheer diversity be it culture, heritage or nature. Karnataka has a rich history of women's participation in both social and politically driven movements, right from the freedom movement, women have played a pivotal role.

    Further she said “The state is home to Hon’ble Justice B V Nagarathna, Judge Supreme Court of India, who would be the first woman Chief Justice of India. It gives me immense pleasure to be part of such a glorious institution.

    She further remarked that the consumer of justice wants unpolluted, expeditious and inexpensive justice. She said “I am very confident that with able assistance from the bar I will be able to discharge my duties in an effective manner.

    Justice Kanneganti was enrolled as an Advocate in 1994 and practiced in all areas of law. She was the Standing Counsel for Agriculture Market Committees; English & Foreign Languages University, Endowments; Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams; Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) and Sanskrit University, Tirupati.

    She assumed charge as a permanent Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on May 2, 2020 and was transferred to the Telangana High Court on November 15, 2021.
