The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the repatriation of Justice T. Vinod Kumar, Judge of the Madras High Court, to his parent High Court, the High Court for the State of Telangana.

The recommendation was made at the Collegium meeting held on September 28, 2026, in view of Justice Kumar's impending retirement on November 16, 2026.

Justice Kumar was transferred from the Telangana High Court to the Madras High Court in June 2025. He has been serving as a Judge of the Madras High Court since the transfer.

The Collegium, in its statement, said that considering his "ensuing retirement" on November 16, 2026, it had recommended his repatriation to his parent High Court.

Justice Kumar was appointed as a Judge of the Telangana High Court in 2019. He was subsequently transferred to the Madras High Court in June 2025.
