    The Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Court, Justice Ravi Shankar on Thursday, e-launched Virtual Court for traffic challan in Chandigarh and RTI portal.

    According to the official press release, the two software modules are developed under the guidance of the members of Computer Committee of the High Court. The committee is comprised of Justice Lisa Gill, Chairperson, Computer Commitee Justice Arun Monga, Justice Anoop Chitkara, Justice Alka Sarin, Justice Vinod. S. Bhardwaj and Justice Vikram Aggarwal.

    Through this module stakeholders can search their traffic challans by vehicle number, registered mobile numbers, owner name or case number. Fine can also be paid digitally and electronic payment receipts will be generated, states the press note.

    Right to Information portal will facilitate an applicant to apply and seek information through digital platform. Along with the High Court, the portal is made live also for District Court in Punjab, Haryana and UT Chandigarh.

    "Through this portal, an applicant can apply, view status and also file appeal before the appellate authority under the RTI Act, digitally. Payment of prescribed charges is also made through electronic means thereby eliminating use of paper. It will serve as a bridge between the Courts and the applicant allowing them to exercise their rights effectively and seek redress for grievances," the press release adds.
