    While granting bail to an accused of the offence of 'Stalking' (Section 354D IPC), the Punjab and Haryana High Court recently imposed a bail condition on him that within 15 days from release from prison, the petitioner is directed not to keep more than one 'prepaid' SIM/mobile phone number, till the conclusion of the trial."

    The Punjab and Haryana High Court recently granted bail to a 23-year-old student who has been accused of funding and supplying arms and ammunition to separatists at the instance of the Pakistani Agency ISI so as to target the leaders of religious organizations and political leaders to disturb peace and tranquillity in Punjab.

    1. Punjab & Haryana High Court Stays Demolitions In Communal Violence-Hit Nuh Until Further Orders

    Case Title: Court on its own Motion v. State of Haryana

    In a suo moto action, the Punjab & Haryana High Court stayed the demolition drive in Nuh, which followed the communal clashes.

    It was alleged that the demolition drive to raze the alleged illegal constructions was ongoing in Nuh since August 3, without any prior notice to the occupants.

    2 .Buildings Of Particular Community Brought Down As Exercise Of Ethnic Cleansing?' : Punjab & Haryana High Court Asks On Nuh-Gurugram Demolitions

    Case Title: Court on its own Motion v. State of Haryana

    While staying the demolition drive carried out by the Haryana authorities in communal violence-hit Nuh and Gurugram, the Punjab & Haryana High Court made certain strong critical observations.

    The Court stated that its has come to its notice that the "State of Haryana is using force and is demolishing buildings on account of the fact that some riots have occurred in Gurugram and Nuh". Apparently, without any demolition orders and notices, the law and order problem is being used as a ruse to bring down buildings without following the procedure established by law", the Court observed.

    Further, the Court made a serious observation whether the buildings belonging to a particular community in Nuh & Gurgaon are being brought down by the authorities under the guise of law and order problem and an exercise of “ethnic cleansing is being conducted by the State".

    A member of Nuh Zila Parishad filed an intervention application in the suo moto action taken by Punjab & Haryana High Court yesterday against the alleged illegal demolition in Haryana.

    The applicant Yahooda Mohd stated that the district administration razed over 200 dwelling units in the demolition drive which took place in the communal violence- hit Nuh administration.

    4. Punjab & Haryana High Court Stays Wrestling Federation Of India Election Scheduled For August 12

    The Punjab & Haryana High Court  stayed the Wrestling Federation Of India (WFI) Election which was scheduled for August 12. The plea raising question over electoral college for the election was filed, wherein the right of Haryana Amateur Wrestling Association to cast vote is under challenge.
