    The National Company Law Tribunal (“NCLT”) has issued an order dated 22.12.2023, directing all the Litigants/Advocates/Parties to follow the 'Mandatory Pre-Requisite on E-filing' on formatting, paper book marking of pleadings, use of electronic signatures, retention of originals etc., at the time of e-filing in NCLT portal https://efiling.nclt.gov.in with effect from 01.01.2024.

    Detailed instructions for filing have also been annexed to the Order dated 22.12.2023.

    On 29.08.2023, the NCLT had urged the Litigants to follow the 'Mandatory Pre-Requisite for E-filing' from 04.09.2023. However, vide an Order dated 01.09.2023 the compliance was kept in abeyance. The Order dated 22.12.2023 has been issued in continuation of these orders.

    The PDF/A version of documents are mandatory for filing, followed by electronic signature using Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) issued by Certifying Authority. The provision of e-sign based on Aadhaar authentication shall be made available as an alternative to DSC in the due course.

    In furtherance of the request made by Members of Bar, the NCLT had also conducted online training session to Advocates/Stakeholders on 4th and 11th September 2023.
