It was developed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi, under the aegis of the Army Design Bureau. The three-layered coat incorporates advanced technical textiles and an ergonomic design aimed at improving comfort, mobility and operational efficiency in varied climatic conditions.
The Army said any infringement of the registered design will draw legal action, including injunctions and damages. It added that the registration underscores its focus on modernisation, innovation and self-reliance in defence clothing systems, in line with the vision of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and the Army's 'Decade of Transformation (2023–2032
