    Essential Qualification and Experience

    • LL.M. or relevant master's degree in social sciences (Criminology/Psychology) from a recognised Indian or foreign university with minimum 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed), and a good academic record.
    • For those applying with a relevant master's degree in social sciences there must be a clear and demonstrable track record of interdisciplinary research involving law.
    • Proficiency in criminal laws is necessary.
    • Prior research experience including field work and data collection is desirable.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Undertake to promote research in the field of criminal law, keeping in view the fast changes in criminal law both at national and international spheres and publish such papers in a journal which will be published annually;
    • Organize seminars and conferences of national and international importance in criminal law;
    • Formulate and develop the details of the projects in criminal law, curriculum, teaching and research methodology, training and advocacy work.
    • Impart training in criminal trial work.
    • Recommend the name of person for award of gold medal for his/her excellent contribution in the field of criminal law, viz. teaching, research, training in criminal advocacy.
    • Identify and establish international collaboration and exchange with reputed Universities for promoting research and teaching in Criminal law.
    • Research and conduct training in all aspects of Criminal law, including important and current legal challenges facing the country (e.g. cross-border terrorism, victimology etc.)
    • Do any other academic/ professional activity that may be deemed fit to expand the scope of research and practice in Criminal law.
