Lady Lawyer’s speeding Audi crashes into Taxi in Mumbai, 2 killed

In an unfortunate incident, two people were killed when a speedy Audi, allegedly being driven by a woman lawyer named Janhavi Gadkar crashed into a taxi in Mumbai. Reportedly, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sangramsinh Nishandar said that Janhavi admitted that she had consumed alcohol in her statement before the doctor.

The 35 year old’s Audi collided with a taxi which resulted in death of the passenger Mohd Salim Saboowala, aged 50, and driver Mohd Hussain Sayaed, aged 57. Ms. Gadkar is the Vice President of legal affairs at Reliance Industries Pvt Ltd, and has been accused of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and drink driving. Reportedly, as she was produced in the Court, Janhavi broke down a couple of times as her lawyers asked her questions about the accident. As per reports Janhavi's father Ajit, her brother-in-law, a colleague and her former husband Rahul Sarella, who works at the law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas were also present in Court.

Reportedly, Janhavi’s work experience included stints at Wadia Ghandy and Talwar Thakore and Associates. Her mother Sudha, ia former employee of BEST now works at Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation as an advisor while her father Ajit was employed at the construction firm Unity Infraprojects.

Her former associate at Talwar Thakore and Associates described her as “a good kid and hardworking. Most of us know her only in our professional capacity. We can hardly believe she was involved in something so terrible." Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Janhavi Gadkar missed hitting two bikes before she hit the taxi as she was driving in a wrong lane on the Eastern Freeway
