    Former Director of Enforcement Directorate, Karnal Singh has set up law firm - Circle of Counsels in New Delhi, India, along with 4 other Founding Partners. The Firm will focus on litigation, dispute resolution practice and white-collar defence practise.

    Karnal Singh, Advocate, is a distinguished former IPS officer who is well known for having led several high-profile probes during his 3 year long tenure as the Chief of ED, prior to his retirement in 2018.

    As per a press release, Circle of Counsels is established by a union of reputed and seasoned professionals with decades of experience.

    The firm will represent its clients in a wide range of litigation and advisory services. The areas of focus will be white collar defence, (anti-corruption, corporate fraud, anti-money laundering), the entire gamut of civil and corporate-commercial disputes, ADR, foreign exchange management laws, regulatory & compliance, blockchain & crypto-currency advisory and internal investigations.

    The firm's practice is led by its Founding Partners: Karnal Singh, Jasmine Damkewala, Vikram Singh, Russell A Stamets and Archit Singh. Gandharv Anand a talented and impressive counsel will also be an integral part of the senior litigation team.

    Karnal Singh, Managing Partner will head the advisory function of Circle of Counsels.

    Jasmine Damkewala, who is the firm's Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India, has over two decades of experience as a proficient litigator. Apart from specialising in constitutional law, and commercial litigation, her expertise extends to a diverse portfolio of adversarial matters, including media law, intellectual property disputes, telecom, real estate, employment, environment, service law and criminal defence matters. She has also handled arbitrations for domestic and multinational clients and is empanelled as an Arbitrator at the Delhi High Court International Arbitration Centre. Jasmine will also continue her existing practice as an Advocate on Record on the rolls of the Supreme Court of India.

    Vikram Singh, the founder of the successful litigation firm Law People, has more than two decades of experience in the legal profession, is an accomplished name in adversarial matters such as Investigations, Fraud Detection, Economic Offenses, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Corruption, Foreign Exchange Management Laws, National Security Act, and General Criminal Law Trials, Insolvency and Bankruptcy and Domestic and International Arbitration and Real Estate matters.

    Archit Singh and Gandharv Anand's practice focuses on White Collar Defence, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Corruption, Foreign Exchange Management laws and Investigations & Trial, in which they have extensive experience with a successful track-record.

    Russell A. Stamets is an India and U.S. qualified lawyer, and specialises in advising entrepreneurs, companies and individuals on commercial transactions, market entry planning, regulatory issues and all types of dispute resolution. He has been designated a certified corporate director by the Institute of Directors in New Delhi and he is on the Advisory Council of the Ethical Alliance, an international compliance organization. His particular expertise includes compliance matters including investigations and litigation concerning the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, World Bank integrity investigations and similar anti-corruption investigations involving corporate bodies.
