  • Thukral Law Associates Acts As Legal Counsel In A USD 50 Million Claim Against Qatar Airways

Advocate Karan S. Thukral on behalf of his client, Mrs. Al Yaseen, has filed for damages to the tune of 50 million US Dollars in the Court of Law against Qatar Airways. The Issue arose when the airline disallowed her husband to board the flight from India to Iraq on erroneous grounds.

Mrs. Al Yaseen states that throughout the incident, her husband was left unattended, while they were stranded at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Airlines took zero responsibility and arbitrarily disallowed them to travel, which ultimately became a cause for his untimely demise.

The matter was hence taken up to the Court of Law by the Office of Mr. Thukral. On the very first day of the hearing, the Court took cognizance of the matter and allowed the parties to present their set of facts and arguments. Upon strong averments put forth by Advocate Karan S. Thukral, the Court was convinced and admitted the matter, issuing notices to Qatar Airways.

Mrs. Al Yaseen's claim is not only based on justifiable but also equitable and reasonable grounds including non-discrimination, right to equality, and right to life. The Law office of Karan S. Thukral informed that the claimant has undergone extreme humiliation and suffered losses at the hands of the opposite party. She has sustained not only financial distress but also emotional pain by loss of a companion.

'Human life is invaluable and no amount of money or other goods equals the value of a human life. However, to meet the ends of justice, it is necessary that the wrong-doer is made accountable and the ones left behind be properly compensated.' On the same grounds, the Delhi based Advocate has prayed for monetary compensation and damages in favor of the claimant and against Qatar Airways. The compensation sought is as per international standards since the case involves parties who are direct subjects of international law.
