IDIA Announces 6th IDIA Football League, To Be Held On October 7-8 In Mumbai

The event is scheduled to take place on October 7th and 8th, 2023, at the Astro Park, St. Stanislaus Sports Complex in Bandra, Mumbai.

The IFL is a 6-a-side football tournament, uniting around 20 teams of 10 players each in friendly yet competitive matches. The primary goal of the tournament is to raise funds to sponsor the legal education of deserving IDIA Scholars from underprivileged backgrounds, enabling them to access top-tier legal education opportunities at various National Law Universities and other leading law colleges.

Since its inception in 2014, the IFL has served as a testament to the power of sports in fostering diversity and inclusion, all while supporting a noble cause. Legal professionals and enthusiasts from law firms and corporate legal teams participate in this event, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship and philanthropy.

The 6th edition of the IFL promises to be an exciting event, with 14 prominent teams already confirming their participation. These teams include Khaitan & Co., J Sagar Associates, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Wadia Ghandy & Co., Trilegal, Desai & Diwanji, AZB & Partners, IC Universal Legal, Spice Route Legal, Samvad Partners, Meraki Chambers, Krishnamurthy & Co., Veritus Legal, and Disney+ Hotstar.

For those interested in joining the action but without a team, the IDIA Well-wishers’ team warmly welcomes you. An entry fee of INR 5000 includes refreshments, a jersey, and an event photograph.

Each participating team, including the IDIA Well-wishers’ team, is guaranteed to play a minimum of four matches – three in the league stage and at least one in the knockout stage. Matches are expected to last slightly over 15 minutes each, with halves lasting 7 minutes and a 2-minute break in between. Unlimited rolling substitutions are allowed, ensuring players can take breaks as needed.

The entry fee for each team starts from Rs. 29,999 and includes refreshments for all players, a jersey for each participant, and an event photograph.
