ABOUT THE CENTRE

The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution, RGNUL (CADR-RGNUL), is dedicated to advancing research, policy engagement, and capacity-building in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution. Since its inception, the Centre has worked to bridge the gap between academic scholarship and its practical application while addressing lacunae in existing ADR discourse.

ABOUT THE BLOG

The CADR Blog provides a platform integrating insights from academic and professional domains, with the objective of advancing socio-legal and socio-political justice through ADR. It features articles on contemporary developments and emerging trends in dispute resolution and seeks to foster dialogue on the theoretical, practical, and policy dimensions of ADR.

Reflecting its inclusive vision, the CADR-RGNUL website is accessible in English, Hindi, and French, catering to a diverse global readership.

THEME

Submissions may pertain to any aspect of Alternative Dispute Resolution, including but not limited to:

• Arbitration;
• Mediation;
• Negotiation;
• Conciliation; and
• Lok Adalats.

Contributions addressing issues of domestic, foreign, or international relevance are welcome. The Editorial Board particularly encourages interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral works exploring the intersection of ADR with other branches of law.

Analytical submissions are preferred over purely descriptive ones. Manuscripts will be evaluated on relevance, originality, novelty, analytical depth, structure, coherence, legal and factual accuracy, and overall writing quality.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• Originality: Submissions must be original and unpublished. Any form of plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification. Manuscripts must not be under consideration elsewhere.
• AI Policy: The use of AI tools to generate or refine content is strictly prohibited. The Board reserves the right to reject any manuscript found to be wholly or partially AI-generated or AI-refined.
• Word Limit: 1,000–1,500 words, excluding endnotes. Longer manuscripts may be accepted and published in parts at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
• Language: Manuscripts may be submitted in English or Hindi.
• Co-authorship: Permitted for up to two authors.
• Anonymity: To ensure a double-blind review process, authors must not include their name, institutional affiliation, or any other identifying details in the manuscript or filename.
• File Format: Submissions must be made in Microsoft Word format (.docx). The filename should contain only the title of the post and no personal details of the author(s).
• References: References should ordinarily be provided through hyperlinks.
• Copyright: Upon acceptance and publication, copyright shall vest with CADR-RGNUL, while moral rights shall remain with the author(s). The Blog publishes exclusive content, and manuscripts already published elsewhere must not be submitted.
• Cross-posting: Cross-posting is permitted only with prior permission of the Editorial Board. Such content must clearly state that it was “first published on The CADR Blog.”

FORMATTING GUIDELINES

The manuscript should be formatted in Garamond, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment, and paragraph spacing of 6 pt before and after. The title of the manuscript should be in Garamond, font size 14, bold and in ALL CAPS.

All references should ordinarily be incorporated as hyperlinks within the body of the manuscript. Hyperlinks should be provided for supporting materials and legal texts, including primary sources such as statutes, judgments and reports, as well as secondary sources such as news articles and academic works.

Factual assertions should be supported by appropriate sources. Where a hyperlink is unavailable, endnotes following the OSCOLA 4th Edition may be used.
